Finance

One of the main roles of the P&C is to raise money to support the school and fund capital works not funded by the Department of Education and Communities (DEC).

Some of the fundraising activities we have been involved in:

  • The major fundraising event of the year is the annual fete held in May.
  • Parent voluntary contributions
  • Mother’s and Father’s day stalls
  • Bunnings BBQ and various school BBQs
  • School banking and other business partnerships

How the P&C fundraised money is spent

Each year the P&C contributes financially to the school.  In 2015, payments to the school totalled $48,000 and were used to provide a Learning Support teacher for two days a week and to supplement the Reading Recovery program.

Over recent years the P&C has supported the following:

  • The installation of air-conditioners in classrooms
  • The purchase of Interactive Whiteboards in classrooms
  • Transforming a storage room into a working kitchen in our new school hall.
  • Major renovation to the K-2 playground, including tiers and sandpits.
  • The installation of Wi-Fi across both sites, and provided 80 iPads for classroom use.

Future projects

Each year a budget is set through a process of discussion with the school about where they see the greatest need is to spend money.
